1 and 2c pieces

The story was that Belgium would follow the example of (I think) Holland.
If you were paying cash, the total amount would be rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cents though if you used a card you would be charged the correct amount.
I've not seen anything that suggests that the plan has been put into operation yet.

The EU institutions have just raised the price of a standard coffee in the outsourced coffee shops from 1 euro to 1.01 euro so the 1c coin looks safe; though the idea of rounding down must appeal to some....
