400 extras sought for Netflix series filmed in Brussels

07:15

TV producers are looking for 400 extras for the filming of the second season of Netflix crime series The Golden Hour, to be shot in Brussels next week.

Filming has already begun but the show is still short on extras and actors for several roles, and welcomes sign-ups from people between the ages of 20 and 70, who can apply online to Belgian casting agency Castingteam.

The casting agency said there were no specific requirements to participate, "except that we are looking for reliable people with experience".

In total, some 400 extras roles need to be filled for the series, ranging from bystanders to police, inspectors and journalists.

For filming scheduled between 20 and 23 January, the casting agency is specifically looking for big, "tough" types.

“We are especially missing fit, big, sturdy men and women to play secret agents, special forces and bodyguards,” casting director David Van Ammel told Bruzz.

The Golden Hour premiered in 2022 in the Netherlands and has been available on streaming platform Netflix since 2023.

The joint AVRO-Netflix series is about the critical first hour after an incident and follows main character Mardik Sardagh, played by Nasrdin Dchar.

After a series of attacks, detective Sardagh goes looking for suspects and an old childhood friend appears on his radar.

The investigation takes Sardagh and his colleagues across Europe in the second season, with a European summit in Brussels as the final destination.

In the coming weeks, hundreds of actors and extras will be in Brussels for filming, most of which will take place in Rue de la Loi and in and around Cinquantenaire park, among other places.

The second season is expected to premier in late 2025 or early 2026.
