Question

Now Brussels region has written up the regulations for people letting via airbnb along with the fifteen (!?) forms that airbnb operators now have to fill in, where can I report the heinous crime of them taking my money and there being less that the five coat hangers that Brussels region have decided, I'm sure after many hours of very expensive work, is the minimum for the closet?

In line with these serious regulations that no doubt cost a great deal of money to come up with, serious answer only please. :-)

If you are not happy about your airbnb accommodation, report it when making your review:

But it's not airbnb that has drawn up rules requiring airbnb operators to have five coat hangers per closet, it's Brussels. I need to report the family I stay with for only having 4 coat hangers per closet. Airbnb have no such requirement because it's absurd

Yea, not wrong! I swear, it is only Belgium that could take such a simple system allowing people to stay as friends in family homes and convert it in to a paper chase of FIFTEEN forms with requirements for the minimum number of clothes hangers per closet. What person goes to work in the morning to think this crap up and who pays them? Ah, wait......

Apart from the requirement for five clothes hangers per closet, I am particularly liking the requirement that the guest using your sofa has his own private bathroom. I suspect Brussels really has not got the general gist of airbnb. Ya think?

It probably is the Brussels Association of Hotels, together with the Brussels Association of Coat Hanger Producers and the Brussels Association of Paper Form Designers (same family), that has drafted this bill.

I'm just wondering who the "competent officials" that are going to visit are? Are they the same "competent officials" that decided the minimum number of clothes hangers per closet or are they the ones that insist my spare room guest must have his own bathroom? Good grief....
