Airplane noise in St Alix area

Question

I like the St Alix area of Brussels, but on my last visit there I noticed a lot of airplanes landing. Obviously this causes some noise, so my q is, is this something that occurs every day or just now and then?

Thanks in advance for all responses

Airplane noise if very personal. If it causes you distress, then don't live underneath flightpaths. Ste Alix is an expensive place to live nonetheless so for many, they are not put off.
There are 3 runways at Zaventem, at the moment, or soon, one of them is closing for renovations. All those under the flightpath of the Stockel/Ste Alix flightpath were leafleted to explain unusually there will be more planes flying overhead. Normally it's perhaps 1 or 2 days a week, depends on weather.

Yes, it's very irritating when the weather is actually nice and you all have to interrupt your BBQ conversations every 3 minutes because another one is landing.

However, this is NOT the main runway. Normally, you don't get as much plane noise as you do in some parts of northern Brussels, and most of it is take-off noise.

General noise, including aircraft noise maps:

You'll see that noise from traffic near the Ring is far worse than aircraft noise.

You can use this website on the days the planes are using the Stockel/Ste Alix runway and click on a place about to land and it will draw you the line of the flight path.

The noise of the R0 can be very loud for houses near the road.
