Airplanes over Brussels

Question

Can somebody please explain why we have airplanes flying over Brussels? I heard there is a petition as well so if anybody knows where I can sign it so we stop this if possible

This may be what you require.

I'm not exactly a great believer in "petitions"

However, given the billboards that have sprung up locally this week, one would assume that there are dozens of wannabee-your-elected-representatives who will have an opinion on this most evidently pressing of issues...

Looking at that link, I I wonder why none of the planes fly over Uccle?

Why should they NOT fly over Brussels?
For 10 years I lived about 20 kms from Brussels and planes flew over my house.
For the last 10 years I've lived about 45 kms from Brussels and planes still fly over my house.
Prior to that I lived in west London and, guess what, planes flew over my house!
If we want the convenience of air travel, planes have to fly over houses from time to time.

No change will be done to the Plan Wathelet until after the elections in May.

The change in route now affects and pollutes densely populated areas of Bruxelles Region. That's why they should be diverted over fields in the direction of Flanders. If it costs more in fuel to take a longer route, then increase the price of air tickets!

They're flying into Zaventem. It's the airport that serves Brussels.
