Amazon - shipment to Belgium
Just for info - Received the following email dated the 4th stating no longer free delivery to Belgium from the 3rd!! -- To avoid last minute orders before the deadline. -- Well - Will certainly reduce my spending with them -- BUT - in a nutshell -- you will no longer get free amazon delivery from UK to Belgium
As you've previously had orders delivered to Belgium, we wanted to let you know that our delivery options to Belgium are changing. From April 3, 2014, FREE Super Saver Delivery will no longer be available. You'll have the option of Standard or Priority Delivery for orders being delivered to Belgium.
More information about international delivery rates and times can be found here.
We strive to provide our European customers the greatest possible selection at low prices and hope to see you again soon.
Nothing new there as far as I am concerned. The Free super saver delivery only applied to customers living within the UK.
To benefit from "Free" delivery, you should order your goods from the site of Amazon France. (It is identical but you settle in euros. The only change, and that is since January this year, is that you must spend a minimum of € 25 to benefit from this. Otherwise they will charge.
I hope that this helps.
Tommy, you haven't got a clue what you are talking about do you? This is a fundamental change in service provided by Amazon and makes them very expensive now as their shipping costs are so high. It was great to be able to settle bills in pounds rather than paying high euro/ pound exchange rates and enabled people in the UK to send birthday presents etc to my kids here directly if they spent more than 25euro. The choice on Amazon.fr is much more limited! It is their choice of course if they want to alienate their EU audience, but they could at least explain why.
> The choice on Amazon.fr is much more limited
I've always managed to get what I wanted from the .fr site, often by looking up the ISBN on .com and then ordering it through .fr.
Prices change though.
Of course, the super saver delivery applied to Belgian customers... This is a fundamental change and we were given no warning or explanation...
Well that's a really short sighted decision. You can't get all the British books you want from Amazon fr or de and if they do have them they are often much more expensive! Standard postage is quite expensive as well!
I will be reducing my spending with them to essential only and will wait until I am in the UK to buy stuff.
If enough people do the same they will soon change their minds. Vote with your feet as they say!

Free shipment to Belgium is automatic with no minimum spend. I've used them extensively without ever having any problem or delayed delivery.
