Any experience with bailiffs (huissier)?
I have received a demand for thousands of euros which I cannot pay. They refused 50 a month over several years. Backpayments from mutuelle which I could not pay as an independent worker.
I cannot get credit. I am already monitored by a debt mediator.
What can they take and not take? eg kids pc, car needed for work, bed etc??
Are there guidelines covering this in English (or I can try in French with difficulty)?

if you are being monitored you are protected. No huissiers can get to you - don't worry. you have already had the guts to accept to have your debt controlled by an official authority they are there to help you not judge you. They should be doing the negotiating with the huissier not you. Hand it over to them. That's what they are there for.
