Are clothes and electronics really much cheaper in Germany?

I've heard that it is much cheaper to shop in Germany for things like clothes and electronics - has anyone had experience with this? Any recommendations for places to go (specific towns or stores)? It might be worth the journey if the savings are significant.

True. Particularly for electronics.
Try the Saturn and Media Markt outlets in Germany. Aachen would be the next opportunity, but if you intend to go to Cologne or any other place, you'll always find one of these in the area.
