Asbestos removal

Question

Dear expats sorry, please bear with me, third and last question for today!

I'm looking for a company specialised in removing asbestos in Brussels or thereabouts - it is a small job, about 4 meters of hot water pipes that are insulated with a material highly likely to contain asbestos. This will need to be removed and replaced with a more modern insulation. The pipes are external and easily accessible.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

my advice: as long the water pipes and the insulation are fine = leave it as it is!

Asbestos type material is 'not a small job' re to legal commitments (Health & safety for the workers etc.) and can cost a fortune re to deposit the contaminated material.

As XL advises, unless there is actual damage to the insulation, with material breaking off, or it is in a position where it's likely that you may continually come into abrasive contact with it, then you would be absolutely mad to have it removed. Asbestos left on it's own is perfectly safe.
