B Box 3 router

Question

Has anyone else tried to use the "B Box 3" router from Proximus with an extender? I have tried both using my old wifi extender and Proximus' own brand but with no success. I can see a network extension (_EXT) after setup. But when you try to login, the password is not accepted. Any ideas??

I use the BBX2 when I had a problem I contacted the help line (they speak English) who where excellent.

Yes I agree, they are normally helpful. But I have the B Box 3 not the 2. I tried to connect a cloud router to it, and that doesn't work either. It seems to be more designed for the TV service not wifi.

I had to buy the BELGACOM Wifi bridge to go with my BBox 3. And I have a NETGEAR extender in a separate room where my laptop is. Otherwise the signal was too weak. Hope this helps.

In the Bbox-3 there are 2 wifi radios: one used for Internet, the other for TV, working at different frequency ranges.

The official Proximus solution to extend the signal is either the wifi bridge (for TV) or the Devolo gadget. The Devolo works in pairs and uses your electrical wire.

Although Proximus support probably will not help, other Wifi extenders should also work, but you have to be more specific.

Thanks. When I tried my old wifi extender (Netgear) the password was rejected as incorrect by devices (I did reset it to factory settings beforehard).

I have bought an extender off Proximus, it is two parts, one a receiver and one transmitter. But the light on the transmitter does not come on, so it may be faulty... Is this the "Devolo" device you refer to? On the box it says "adapteur CPL + adapteur CPL + extension wifi".
