Belgium second-worst in Europe for motorcyclists
Belgium

Belgium is the second most dangerous country for motorcyclists in Europe, just behind Greece. More than 120 motorcyclists die each year on Belgian roads, an average of 12 deaths per million inhabitants, Flemish broadcaster VTM said, quoting a study by motorists’ organisation Touring. Heavy traffic on Belgian roads and poor road maintenance are to blame, with the unpredictable weather also an important factor. In Belgium, the risk of dying in a road accident is 15 times higher for motorcyclists than for car users.
