Best phone provider for data

Question

Hi guys, what’s the best and cheapest provider for data? I’ve heard Belgium isn’t great for unlimited data. Thanks!

CM

Mobile Vikings are excellent for data, and you can easily choose how many calls/sms/data you want and switch to a different option every month if you wish. They do both prepaid and subscription (and it's also very easy to change from one to another if your circumstances change:

https://mobilevikings.be/en/v2/offer/subscriptions/
https://mobilevikings.be/en/v2/offer/prepaid/#tab:i-want-to-surf-more

They use the BASE network, which covers pretty much all of Belgium, and 4G availability is very good.

It's generally best to avoid the big providers like Belgacom, orange and BASE, as they are very inflexible and are generally more expensive. (Sometimes much more so).

You can also take a look at one of the price comparison sites, like this one:

Mobile vikings are only good for data if you call or text your credit vanishes and people who post links get rewards if you sign up. Shop around for sure base offer more than proximus but there maybe better offers.

Also what so you mean by unlimited data?for sure they all have caps on the amount of data you can use. Unless your streaming movies why do you need that much?

As usual CC_R, your information about Mobile Vikings is completely wrong. Your calls and text do nit vanish if you do not use data - why on earth would that happen?

And you are lying about people getting "rewards" if anonymous strangers sign up. Howe would that work?

If you know nothing about something, why do you continue to talk nonsense about it?

Thanks for your advice CC_R and CM. I’m looking for unlimited data as most phone companies here in Ireland offer unlimited data usage so that’s what I’m used to. Not really any of your concern why I would need that much but thanks nonetheless.

I’m Belgium unlikited data has not really existed until now. Just recently Orange came out with what they call unlimited data, but if you look into more details, you’ll find out that after certain consumption limit is reached they’ll restrict your band width for the rest of the month (so you can surf as much as you want, but will be suffering with snail speed towards end of each month). The contract details can be seen in here https://www.orange.be/fr/surf-illimite-avec-aigle.

Your best option is probably to compare the available limited data options, for example in here https://www.test-achats.be/hightech/gsm/calculateur/le-tarif-gsm-le-plus..., or on the site mentioned in the above messages.
