the call centres are busy again targetting Brussels, two calls in 4 days ...
keep them on the phone for as long as possible to waste their time and reduce the number of people they can harrass in a day ....

thanks Clanger, but i am actually only 59, I just get annoyed by the patronising remarks I get here, often, I think i might change my name on this to M.A.(Hons) Bip Ed.Some people seem to assume if you do not work in one of the 'Institutions' you are too stupid to speak to. I have even been blanked at dinner parties by people who thought they were better than i am. My daughter and I have a code but as i live in their Granny Flat it is not really needed. the police asked me to try and get as much information out of the callers as possible, particularily to try and discover the actual country they are calling from. A dear friend id also getting them in the U.K. she also does not have a PC, and leaves them hanging on while she goes and gets her PC, after 10 minutes she picks up the phone and tells them sorry the shop is closed so i cannot buy one today, then tells them to F*** o**.

RETIREDCHEF - you often confirm my own experience of the M.A.(Hons) Dip Stick route being a far less taxing option than working in catering as a career choice.

I went through a harrowing time a few years ago and recieved a lot of positive help from people on this site I thank them still. Is your posting the only way you can see to patronise me today. Have a good evening.

Retiredchef - oops sorry, shows that one should never assume anything (I did after reading your name). I have caller ID and only picked up last Saturday for the hell of it - sometimes I like to have a little fun with call centres, I'm not normal! I've heard of family members getting the same calls in the UK, so the people running the scam must be short of money again. Happy Friday!

Retiredchef - I could have worded that better.
It wasn't a dig at you at all. Quite the opposite.

No. I was referring to the people who "assume if you do not work in one of the 'Institutions' you are too stupid to speak to". I thought you were to.

I was, I know it is off topic but it really annoys me, ecpecially as most of them can only talk about their jobs anyway, I got stuck with a real bore a few weeks ago, then when he realised I didn't work in the same place as him, walked off in mid-sentence. Love to see some of them work in a really busy kitchen or as I was running their own company without the benefit of the Euro bubble they live in. Sorry now I am being a bit rude as most are really nice people I just seem to get the bores.
