Blocked sink
Before calling a plumber and paying a fortune for what might be a 5 minute job, you should try to unblock it yourself.
First get as much water out of the sink as possible and then pour boiling water into it. If the blockage is caused by congealed fat or grease, that should sort it out. If it doesn't, then look under the sink where you should find a trap which unscrews to allow you to get any accumulated rubbish out and to poke a wire or similar in to free the blockage. It isn't a pleasant job and you'll need a bowl or a bucket to catch the outflow but it is exactly what you will pay a plumber will do.
If you still haven't sorted the problem out, THEN call a plumber.
