Brussels Job Day to offer 2,000 vacancies

14:29 15/09/2024

More than 2,000 jobs will be advertised this Tuesday at the city’s second Brussels Jobs Day.

Organised by the City of Brussels at the Brussels Expo in Laeken, as well as job offers, participants will be able to take part in training sessions, demonstrations and choose from more than ten conferences.

Jobseekers can consult the list of jobs available on the Brussels Job Day website and then be directed to an employer, based on the positions they ae looking for.

Jobs on offer range from “administration to finance, including technical and mechanical professions, retail, catering, police or defence, security, gardening and many others,” organisers said.

Particular attention is paid to information technology careers and special support is given to entrepreneurship, through meetings and seminars.

“I am convinced of the importance of promoting the entrepreneurial spirit, deconstructing certain clichés, discovering sectors for the general public and promoting training courses,” said Benhur Ergen, the city's alderman for economic affairs and employment.

“After the fair on 17 September, the aim is to achieve as many positive outcomes as possible, whether in terms of finding a job or by enrolling in training,” he added.

The day will be attended by more than 40 public and private recruiting companies, as well as by at least 10 organisations offering training.

Socioprofessional organisations including the CPAS (social security), Actiris (job seekers agency) and Bruxelles Formation (job training) will also be at the exhibition.

Their role will be to help people get in touch with each other, and to provide jobseekers with more comprehensive details and advice on how to follow up their job applications.

The event is free of charge, with registration required at www.brusselsjobday.be.
