Brussels-Prague night train service to continue beyond June 2025
The overnight Brussels to Prague train service will continue to run during the summer and autumn, European Sleeper has confirmed.
Timetable problems have been resolved, said the private Belgo-Dutch company. "We have managed to organise a timetable across Germany," Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper, told Belga.
It was in September 2024 that the night train operator had revealed the future of the night connection was uncertain. Complex timetable procedures had cast doubt on it continuing beyond June 2025.
But travellers can now plan train trips for the busy summer and autumn periods. The European Sleeper night train departs three times a week from Brussels to Prague, via Antwerp, Amsterdam, Berlin and Dresden.
From 5 February, the rail company will also operate a night train twice a week from Brussels to Austria (Innsbruck) and Italy (including Venice) for a two month period. This is destined for travellers heading to ski stations as well as carnival celebrations. These trains will also pass through the Netherlands and Germany.
In addition to European Sleeper, the Austrian railway company ÖBB operates night trains in Belgium, running a service between Brussels and Berlin and Vienna.
