Buying a lawnmower

Question

Just moved to Brussels last week into a house with a large garden. Anyone know where is the best place near Overijse to buy lawnmowers??? Thanks!

From the cross roads in overijse, head up the hill toward tombeek. Turn right at the cross roads at the top of the hill. Big garden machine place on your right.

Think carefully before you buy, cutting the grass regularly - and disposing of it - is a significant task if you have a large garden, perhaps half-a-day every 10-14 days for 6-7 months of the year. Do you want a lawn mower you "push" and if so which size, or one that you sit on, or one of these new self-propelled "mice" (actually I suppose "rabbit" would be more appropriate) that wanders round your garden of its own accord throughout the day (and night if necessary), they have become incredibly popular in my village.

And if you need to dispose of the cuttings you are going to need a trailer as well.

The place suggested in Overijse on NIjvelsesbaan quite an expensive shop but I believe they are good. If http://www.goudengids.be/v-pro-garden-equipment-van-eyck-overijse-3090/?...
If you want a sit on I can highly recommend http://www.lambrechts-tuinmachines.be/ who I got mine from and will come in a van to take it and return it for the annual service. However you need to drive to close to Leuven to go. http://www.lambrechts-tuinmachines.be/?utm_source=truvo&utm_medium=inter...
If you want a cheaper option for say self propelled go to one of the larger Brico there is one in Wavre straight off junction 6 411 and one in Audeghem off 411 next to Carrefour. They will have a better election than the bricco in Overijse.
Getting rid of grass yo either bag in the large brown sacks and place out with refuse or you take it direct to the container park in a vehicle but you need ID card and I think to pay €2 as long as you take only garden refuse, cardboard, glass or plastic recycling along.

I am quite intrigued by the idea of having to pay to take something to the container park. Not only is access to our container park free (but turn up in a Dutch registered car without the necessary permis and one would soon be told to leave), but we actually have "loyalty cards" and if you get the necessary stamps to prove that one made 10 visits in a year in different months, one gets a € 20 rebate paid in vouchers valid in local shops.

If the lawn is very big, then the best option would be to buy a robotic lawn mower. This type usually works on its own without supervision. You can check robotic lawn mower reviews for an insight in to the best robotic mower for you.
