Car blocking my garage exit, who to call?
Hi,
I live close to a school. Every morning people dropping off their kids park right in front of my house. Most of the time partially blocking my exit from driveway/garage. Today they totally blocked me and was late for work and dropping off my child. What number do I call so they can come tow those vehicles away? I tried calling 101 but it was not an emergency and by the time I was on the phone the lady actually showed up to move her vehicle. Thanks.
I know that the neighbors to my son's school approached the school. A kind letter was sent to all the parents.
Stick a big note under the windscreen wiper:
"YOU ARE BLOCKING ACCESS AND PREVENTING OTHER CHILDREN FROM GETTING TO SCHOOL ON TIME. PARK LEGALLY."
Park your car outside your garage before you have breakfast. Calling and towing takes time which you don't have!
I am pretty sure that if you take a picture & call the tow truck, the call out costs are billed to the car that was blocking your garage, even if it's not there when the truck arrives.
You'd do well to call the local police and see what they have to suggest. The number to call depends on where you live.

Luckily here the plod will remove the vehicle -- Follow J advice above - Note under windscreen advising their registration and photo have been given to police. Also driving down the driveway and stopping the car right against their drivers door so impossible to open -- that put a lot of people off
Parents in law have the same issue -- doesn't happen much anymore -- a few times cars were towed -- plus every time a note on the window --
There was one mum who spoke to parents in law as they had a disabled child -- and needed top park close -- she was allowed to park in entrance - a: she asked and b: had a good reason and was only ever there 1 or 2 mins

They towed it away pretty quickly at a reasonable rate. In addition, they arrived quickly. What more?
