Carrefour Planet's new self check-outs
I think that Carrefour lost customers by introducing the self check-out, only by these hand scanners. Delhaize and Match allows you to scan at the machine. Now the non-scanning people have to queu like old times on single quest. However, Carrfeouir's other queuing system was very successful. What do you think of these systems? Do you think people get used to them?
I think that any retail technology that replaces people is evil. I will not go to McDonald's because of this and instead choose Quick when I wish to eat that kind of "food," for example, Quick doesn't use stupid electronic menu ordering.
Depends on what shop you go to. My local Carrefour has self scan checkouts. It's really efficient, I use it all the time.
If they're getting rid of the idiots who can't self scan and then turn up at the checkout area with a trolley full of stuff that they then need to check in, then congrats to Carrefour.
Earlier this week you complained about Match’s pricing, but now you like their scanning system. Personally I don’t like the experience at Match Stockel either. I hate the megastores like Cora. If you want expensive, then Rob will fulfill your every wish.
I’m not sure we can help you here. You need to try the different supermarkets until you find one that suits you and that you like. They all have plus points and negative points. If not, they would go out of business. We, the consumer, have a wide choice and we make a decision based on pricing, quality, convenience, ease of access, ease of use, parking etc.

Personally I love being able to scan and pack as I go rather than trying to do so on a tiny area At the checkout in delhaize. I really don’t see why you think it’s more difficult than self scan at checkout, I personally prefer delhaize as in my local I don’t queue for someone to check if I remembered to scan every time item each time. The control is completely random and if I need help it’s there and there are massive queues like carrefour sometime have even for self scan
