Changing headlamps with newer model

Need to replace a headlamp for 2003 model Honda Jazz and looking for second hand. Found only a a pair of 2004 model and guy at shop says it fits identically and is perfectly acceptable for control technique as long as I change both. Couldn't get the question through by phone to control, and tomorrow will ask my garage, but can anyone shed light on whether it is OK to change the model?
