charges to inc heating

Question

Hi
Am looking around for a new apartment and see that the monthly charges sometimes include heating. Is that for unlimited heating, or is it estimated? In other words, would I get a bill at the end of the year based on consumption if the charge had originally been fixed too low?
TIA

Yes, its an estimate and yes, you will have a recalculation at the end of the year. Most commonly not in your favor. So are all the rest of the charges that are included. Happy house hunting!

Thanks. Will it come in one bill, or is it recalculated for the next 12 months?

it usually comes in one bill after your meters showing the exact consumption are read. In my building is done around May but it changes based on availability of the external companies that reads the meters.

If your final bill will be quite high, your landlord or caretaker (if you are owner) will probably adjust to the high your monthly charges to avoid large EoY payments.

Same principle applies to other suppliers (electricity, water etc).
