Charleroi Airport cancels all departure flights on Tuesday due to strike by security staff
Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA) has announced that all departing flights are cancelled on Tuesday 22 October due to strike action by the security sector, reports RTBF.
In a statement on Facebook, the airport’s management said it took the decision because of the action and a lack of staff to ensure security operations. "The safety of passengers and staff cannot be guaranteed," it specified.
On a practical note, it added: "Passengers who were due to leave this Tuesday will be contacted in the next few hours by their airline for a new reservation or a refund".
Arrival flights maintained
The airport’s management added the assurance that all arrivals scheduled for 22 October were maintained, but it invited passengers to contact their airline to confirm their flight.
Operations at the airport should resume normally on 23 October.
