Christmas

Question

I have a big group of family coming for Christmas and I have never spent Christmas in Belgium. I went to the tourist office and they have no info of anything on except for the the Christmas markets. Does anyone have plans or experiences of Christmas in Brussels that they can share?
The family is a mix of ages between 2 and 65 and we would be able to travel. They arrive on 20th and leave on 27th december
Thanks for any comments

We have found making the rounds to a variety of different Christmas markets can be quite enjoyable. Brussels is wonderful (plan an evening to see the light show), Cologne and Antwerp are also quite beautiful. They are all different enough to make each one special. My 21 year old daughter said the market in Cologne under the cathedral was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

If you want to travel, most shops in Barcelona are open between Christmas and New Years and the weather is quite mild.
