Anything imported from within the EU is free of all taxes.
Anything imported from OUTSIDE the EU is liable to customs duties and taxes.
This is the way it works:
Goods arrive from outside the EU.
The customs officer decides whether or not to examine the shipment which includes your goods.
If he decides not examine it to you pay nothing.
If he decides to examine it you pay an agent for handling the deal.
Who does that depends on how your goods are shipped but, typically, the maximum charge is €10.00.
The customs officer then decides what import duty, if any, to level and whether or not VAT/BTW/TVA is also liable to be paid.
The long and short of it is that there is no way to know in advance whether or not you will have to pay anything and, if you do have to pay, there is no way to know in advance how much it will be.
Best advice; avoid buying from outside the EU if you possibly can do so.
