Data SIM card for smartphone when travelling to NL/DE/FR

Question

I currently use Proximus for my smartphone with a fixed Euro15/month and 500 MB data but sometimes Im also travelling to NL DE or FR and the data roaming charges are exhorbitent @ .54 Cents/MB. I dont care about SMS/calls. If it helps, I have telenet at home for internet.

Is there a more affordable plan I can adopt in Belgium from Prox/Telenet? Or should I go in for pay-as-you-go plans for each country? That would mean buying separate SIM cards but Im ok to do that.

Any recommendations?

It might interest you to know that as of 1 July, the maximum they can charge in the EU will be 20 cents/MB.

Currently the maximum they can charge you is 45 cents/MB. If they have charged you more, claim the extra back:

Sorry, I forgot to say, I use Mobile Vikings. They charge 15 cents/MB (including VAT)

Thanks CM. I did some research and think that its better I buy separate SIM and get a prepaid deal on each of those cards.

Any recommendation for prepaid data SIMs in NL and DE as these are the 2 counties I frequently visit.

You can find an online search engine for Germany based on your profile here:

I am doing the same like you, btw. I have a German sim card in my old mobile phone that I take along when I go there.

Personally found mobile Vikings really expensive for calls data was reasonable but calls and text stupid rates, plus they system didn't work on my blackberry the advice they offer was rubbish, I had to spend ages figuring how to configure it know others thinks they are great but I didn't.
