De Tijd crowned Newspaper of the Year

11:52 16/11/2012

Belgian financial daily De Tijd was yesterday crowned Newspaper of the Year by an international jury at an awards ceremony in the German city of Meerbusch. The Dutch-language newspaper, owned by the Mediafin group, tied for  first with the Netherlands’ Trouw in the “national daily” category. The jury hailed De Tijd as a “modern and convivial” newspaper. This award vindicates the radical makeover undergone by the newspaper, with regards to both style and content. In March, it switched to the berliner format and a new layout.
