Disputing charges?


In Belgium, tenants are responsible for all the maintenance tasks (fix, repair, maintain). The maintenance tasks are never included in the rent price. Your landlord is responsible to fix a leak in a non accessible pipe but YOU need to report this leak immediately to him.

Tenants are responsible to fix leak appearing in accessible pipes.

Now, if you are living in a "copropriété" managed by a professional syndic, you can get a lot of information in relation to your charges by calling the accounting department of your Syndic.

Given the huge furnace needed to warm a building block (+ electricity + maintenance costs), warm water in a copropriété in often 5 times more expensive than cold water...
