Drone experience centre and flying space to open in Brussels
The first indoor space dedicated to flying drones in Belgium will open next month in Brussels, Het Laatste Nieuws reports. Drone Towers is due to open on 1 September in the cellars of the Tour & Taxis site.
The venue will also serve as an experience centre for drones and will allow both children and adults to discover the newest versions. According to Drone Towers director Renaud Fraiture, the space – accessible by appointment only – is unique in Europe.
Fraiture also organised Drone Days, a fair that attracted 11,000 people to Tour & Taxis earlier this year.
Visitors to Drone Towers will need to reserve a group ahead of time and then can choose from different activities. They can start with a simulation flight on a computer through the desert or a tropical rainforest. It will also be possible to learn how to fly a drone and guide it through various obstacles. A virtual reality headset will offer the chance to experience how it would be to fly next to a drone.
The 2,200 square-metre space will be divided into six rooms. “Both parents with children and groups of friends will have fun here, but the indoor space can also be used for special team-building sessions for colleagues,” said Fraiture.
Special skills are not be required to learn how to operate a drone, though children under the age of 10 will not be allowed in Drone Towers. The cost per person has not yet been determined, but Fraiture told Het Laatste Nieuws that he think it will be between €50 and €100 depending on the package.

This is a great opportunity to allow parents to teach their children about drones and electronics in a controlled environment. Parents can learn more about which drone to get and how to fly them at RC Hobby Review. Great news article about quadcopters and drones, thank you for sharing!
