Dutch-language daycare in Brussels
We are looking for Dutch-language daycare in Woluwe-saint-Lambert in Brussels for our baby in March 2020. We already registered our application via kinderopvanginbrussel.be.
But as we understand the earliest they would give answer is in August in our case. So we are not sure if meanwhile we need to contact the private ones in the area or should wait..(confused about how this works here)
any recommendation on Dutch daycare in WSL is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Do you not understand Dutch?
You have already registered for public AND private daycare in Brussels. There is no more way of applying for Dutch language daycare in Brussels, it is all done through the kinderopvanginbrussel website.
Pointless recommending anything as you've already applied.
All the free ones in Dutch in brussels are there too
If you could read Dutch, you d know all Dutch opvang chdminders and creches are on that website.
We were on the waiting list for 6 months before we got offered a place. Our neighbours were on a waiting list for 2 years. Public creches, WSP.
It seems that it might be a good idea for you to check out the paid for private ones as well.
These people https://www.kribbenvanbelgie.be have 2 in WSL and a Kribbe near Quatre Bras which is not far from WSL. It says Kribbe in large letters outside which suggests the emphasis is on Dutch.
The creches de belgique creches in wsl are french speaking, which is why you do not enrol for them via www.kinderopvanginbrussel.be . Their creche at 4 bras is in kraainem and French speaking.
All Dutch speaking daycare in brussels, subsidized or free, is through the above website.
Wsl has no Dutch speaking childminders.
Wsl has 5 kribben in Dutch, all public.
You may choose a maximum bid 5 Dutch speaking daycares in brussels.
I would still check the Quatre Bras one. All their exterior signage is in Dutch only and Kraainem is not in Brussels but is in Flanders, even if a high percentage of the population is Francophone.
It does look like a privately run operation and I suspect they charge.
A quick phone call will confirm. Good luck.
It's a French speaking creche, I know several children there.
Of course it's a private creche, all Creches de Belgique ones are. It's very easy to check out the status of creches by looking on Kind en Gezin website or just by using google. Kraainem only has one Dutch language kribbe, next to GBS de Klimboom.
Here is the SPRL details of Creches de Belgique.
