EID Software problem

I'm having problems downloading the EID software from taxonweb site. The problem is my laptop - after 100% download there is an error message -- is there anything obvious I could change in settings? (The software downloads fine onto a friends pc so Im sure it is my laptop with teh issue) The EID card reader I bought is OK as well as we tested that on another pc

Laptop runs on Windows7

So any IT geniuses with a quick fix? (and a simple one for a simple soul)
