Expert at detecting water leaks

Question

Large amounts of condensation below bathtub and humidity is creeping into nearby walls and even below into the kitchen. Need an expert with proper equipment to definitively say if the source is humidity from the bathroom or due to a water leak below bathtub. The small square hatch used to be closed, but now has a vented plastic cover, but no difference. Of course I'm keeping the landlord periodically informed by registered mail but he's in no condition to take care of things himself and his son would rather not deal with anything, says it's humidity, but doesn't do anything. I want to make sure whether it's just condensation or a leak. Any experts out there?

Mimi

Now I feel embarrassed! I googled and plenty of experts came up.

i am not sure but by law the landlord is supposed to provide a place in habitable conditions so he cannot just shrug it off saying it's humidity. It is one of his requirement to fix the problem not yours, have a look online in your commune's website or pay a visit to them to find out what the obligations of your landlord are.

okay

I don't have any recommendations, just sympathy--you are not alone--we have a bad mould problem which we think is due to a leak, but the Syndic says it's just humidity because "we have a baby and they produce a lot of moisture". Seriously.

OKAY, that's the best I've heard in a long time!

Are you living in a large building ?
If your neighbours heat their place more than you , humidty creeps to the coldest place...
Also is there any ventilation in your bathroom ?
