Family tragedy /bills
Do companies in Belgium have compassion policy or such? A dear family friend has suddenly lost their dad and mum was overseas and the kids will be travelling soon to their home country for burial. Just wondering for outstanding bills such as phone,electricity and water if we call them and explain what has happened and ask for extension/compassion is that possible? I am just trying to help /may be one less worry for them if this works. thanks
Can they pay before they go or pay by internet? Or leave the bills with a friend to pay by internet they can pay back later? All bills I've ever had in Belgium come with "numbered message" and it doesn't matter from which account the money comes, if that numbered message is included, it gets paid. If I were a good friend of someone, I'd do this for them, even if it meant going overdrawn to prevent someone worrying over their bills.
