Final choice of maternelle

Question

Hi all,

After a long research we have registered our kids (aged 2 and 4) in the following maternelles:
1. Crommelynck (1150)
2. Ecole du Bonheur (1200)
3. Ecole communale de Stockel (1150)

They all have pros and cons for us based on the following criteria: proximity to home and/or work, general/human feeling, facilities, extra-curricular activities, population. Our intention is to keep them for primary too.

Any direct experiences you want to share to help us taking a final decision? (i.e. I read Crommelynck doesn’t have a great reputation but can’t understand why).

The choice of a school is a very personal issue but any help would be helpful.

Thanks!!

I

Nearest to home for 2 and 3. But there are loads of other very nice schools around all 3 choices. Stockel is about to add another 5 primaire classrooms over the next year, so only for next year it will be a building site there. It will eventually be a rather big school, if it gets to capacity, it will be 700 children in the French school, add that to the roughly 200 in the Flemish school, they all share the same outdoor space. That's quite a contrast to Crommelynck which has around 200 children in 10 classes and has never got near to capacity in the time I've lived here.
.
For maternelle, I'd go for as near to home as possible, unless there are specific reasons not to.
