fish and chip shop
No, it closed years ago. There is one in Waterloo (Watsons) if that's any use.
You get fish and chips in almost all supermarkets. Why would you want a specific shop for that unless you are looking for organic/bio fish and chips, you can get them in Bio-Planet. Closest to you is in Nossegem.
There is van that sells fish and chips - usually in Carrefour (Terverun) car park Thursday and Stonemanor Tues (maybe other days as well but not sure).
Gosh, Claire, I didn't know that - thanks!
I tried Watsons. Sadly I cannot recommend. Thin bit of fish and as a consequence, soaked in oil. Just not good.
I tried Watsons just after it opened and was also disappointed by the fish (the chips were good). I was hoping they had evolved, but from what Mike says, it sounds not. And yes, you definitely need a specialist outlet - supermarket 'fish and chips' are not "fish and chips"! So for me, my wife still makes the best fish and chips I've had in Belgium; it's an effort, but worth it.
Chips were good. I would certainly consider popping in again for pie and chips, but not that fish. But then I have been spoiled with top fish and chips on the Yorkshire coast, so meeting my standard will take some doing. ;-)
Hayesbook.......Of course it's worth the effort if the wife is making the effort! :-)
I agree the fish at Watsons was very disappointing, but the chips are good. One of the best I have had is bia mara in town
