Flat ownership Windows
What is the law in Belgium for flats regarding windows? We own a flat in Antwerp and the windows have rotted from the inside due to water ingress from two floors above. The leaks have been found and fixed - however we need to replace the rotted wooden windows. Are the windows considered as "private" or part of the buildings? Who is responsible for the damage to the wooden windows?
As co-owner you co-finance the premium for the building insurance.
Did you inform syndic (and they in turn the building insurance who presumably covered repairs of water leak) of this "collateral damage"? What about the owner of the flat where leaks originated? I would turn to him in case leakage was repaired without involving insurance/syndic. Good luck!
