freelance

Hi,

Does anyone know how to go about getting set up as a freelance? The name of an organisation or consultant who can advise would be good. Also how does tha taxation work? I know from research that social security is paid each quarter at a fixed rate for the inital 3 years, is this also the case with taxes? Or is it paid monthly/once a year?
