Gas pipes replacement

Question

Hello,

I live in the house with three appartments in Woluwe-St-Lambert. My neighbour from downstairs (who owns the other two appartments) is in the process of renovating his appartments. He mentioned that the gas pipes in his appartments (his and the pipes that go up into my appartment) need replacing. Does anyone know if this is something that any plumber can do? Has anybody had this kind of work done and what company did you use?
Thank you in advance

best

You are better off in doing the work at the same time and with his own plumber. In that way you'll avoid extra costs and will have only one supplier, preventing blame shifting if any problems.

Any work on a gas installation should definitely NOT be done by a plumber.
You need a qualified gas fitter - I'm sure that it is a legal requirement but, even if it is not, it is simple common sense. The risks associated with faulty work are simply too high.
And, should there ever be an insurance claim, the insurers will want proof that the work was done by a qualified professional or they will laugh at you.
