Going by car to Ostend
Hello, I have looked up Brussels to Ostend on Google maps and Michelin but find some of their instructions not comprehensive enough, particularly just getting out of Brussels itself. In some cases they use road numbers which mean absolutely nothing to me. For instance, the R20. I've googled R20 and it seems this might be the street which goes from Arts/Loi through Madou out Rogier way. Is that correct? If so, at what point can I join the R20? If I could have more straightforward directions from Montgomery roundabout I'd be very grateful! Thank you.
You can see the R20 on google maps. Now if the tunnels around Schuman are open again, you drive along Av de Tervuren/Rue de la Loi till you reach the inner Pentagone ring, turn right/anti-clockwise and that's the R20, once the road turns straight, you just stay on that road, going under the basilica, you eventually hit the R0 and at that point the road becomes the E40, you just keep driving straigh ahead. It really is easy, just take a look at the map which google draws.
