Holiday during notice period

Hello all, I have just given notice (notice period 6 weeks) but have several weeks‘ holiday left, some already approved in the past. My employer now says he will decide how much of that holiday I can take and how much will be paid out. Can he decide that? And is it different for the different types of holiday (legal, public holiday „replacement“, industry-agreed extra etc)?
