Holidays when changing company

Question

Situation given: an EU citizen has worked for 3 years in an EU institution in Brussels. This year the citizen joined a Belgian based company, which says that the person is not entitled to any holidays for the first year of contract...

I find this very strange, since the person has worked full time last year...

Did any of you encounter this situation and has a solution

Is your question about whether you are entitled to take holiday or whether you will be paid an extra month holiday money and, in fact, does the employer mean no time off or no extra money?
It seems that you are asking whether you may have x days off work but the first response assumes that your question is about money.
