Hospitality industry employs more and more foreigners

One in five people working in Belgium’s hospitality industry is a foreigner, a number that is increasing steadily every year. Restaurant and café owners find it increasingly difficult to find personnel willing to work evenings and weekends. A café owner in Antwerp, for example, has resorted to hiring 14 Spaniards in recent months because he no longer finds enough Belgians to fill positions like chef, waiter and bartender.
