how to find out if my lease was registered by the landlord

Question

Hi, does anyone know what is the easiest and fastest way to find out if my landlord registered my lease? I am in the 8th year of a 9yr lease. I live in Wezembeek Oppem and I know that my cadastre registration office is in Overijse. Will I be given an information like that over the phone if I call them? Can I check it online? I plan to move in the next few months and just found out that if the landlord did not register the lease (and that is a good possibility) one is not obliged to do a 3 month notice period (in my contract it says it is 3 months). Here is an excerpt from the site: "Si le bail n'a pas été enregistré par le bailleur, le locataire peut quitter le logement sans délai de préavis."
Thanks

eight years ago it was still the renter's obligation to register the lease and provide the landlord with a stamped copy. then the law changed and now the landlord is required to register the lease. by all means call the registration office to find out what the status of your contract is and what the rules are.
