How long to settle with landlord?
Is there a limit in Belgium on how long my landlord can legally drag out the final settlement of payments and deposit after I move out? I lived in an apartment for nearly 5 years, moved out 6 months ago, and paid what the landlord asked for the final charges within a couple of days. It turned out that what he asked for in the final bill was erroneous and I overpaid. Now he has been telling me for weeks that he has a revised bill, all he has to do is send it to me, but I still have not seen it.
What are my legal rights here? Would it help to get an advocat involved, or would an advocat be likely to tell me that Belgian law does not give me much protection in this situation?

We had a problem with our landlord demanding money from us he did not deserve. When in fact he owed us over 1000 euro. They took care of it for us and he paid us our money back. The huurdersbond is well worth 15 euro per year.
