Might help if we knew what sort of activities you are interested in. If helping others check out serve the city. Although based on Christian principles do a lot of good work.

Thank you, XL and CC_R, for your thoughts.
CC_R I am interested in finding a way to do charity work that would fit with my schedule- and working with the current refugee crisis is really something I would like to be involved in. I know of Serve the City - they are excellent! - but it would be an added bonus if the group were humanist-based as I would like to meet more people with that mindset.

Ok in that case chalks from people to peopl and serve the city is your man to ask. I'd definitely get in touch with him because he's a really nice guy and knows a lot of people that may be able to point you where to go.
