Hygienist

I am looking for the equivalent of an hygienist in the UK. I know that dentists are taking care of teeth cleaning here in Belgium (instead of hygienests) but they usually do it in 10 minutes and the result is less good than with an hygienist in the UK who spends 45 minutes cleaning your teeth. Any recommendation for a good dentist is welcome.
