Have you ever wondered how fictional narratives can shape our perceptions of the world? Or how political imagination can pave the way for multiple and open visions of the future? How will the green transition take place in the Anthropocene, and what will be the geopolitical order in the 22nd Century? Can generative AI truly enable us, or will it regress our brain capacities?

Step into the world of science fiction and join us for an exciting evening of exploring different possibilities for the future and creative world-building.

On the occasion of the launch of the sci-fi vision of global politics handbook (see below) you will be guided by our talented hosts and have your own chance to create, through science-fiction, the next hundred years of global politics in our highly interactive evening.

Science fiction is a powerful tool that can test scenarios, open discussions, and create a shared imaginary. The transformative power of political action passes through imagination, and we're excited to see what we can create together!

Be part of the world building workshop, engage with you new people and imagine new futures, and feed into policy.

THE HOSTS

Giuseppe Porcaro, co-author of the book, host of the Europarama podcast, author of Disco Sour, and working at Bruegel think tank,

David Labi, facilitator, ethical storyteller, author & performer of the show Pieces of a man, recently featured at Full Circle,

Heather Grabbe, senior adviser to the Open Society Foundations and non-resident fellow at Bruegel.

THE BACKGROUND

Setting the scene and theme of the evening is "The Palgrave Handbook of Global Politics in the 22nd Century", a groundbreaking collection of essays that will 'write the future' of global politics from a wide range of perspectives and approaches, establishing the field of academic science fiction. The handbook will launch this evening and will be made available to registered participants.
