Income from renting out a furnished appt - tax question

Question

Hi all, I am aware that if landlord rents an appt out furnished in Brussels they would then be subject to a tax. Does anyone know how much this is?
Can this tax be offset against the regular outgoings for the mortgage payments as I think it can in the UK?
Thanks for any advice and also suggestions as to a tax lawyer I could contact on this issue.

You're only taxed on the rental of the furniture. You need to get professional advice on that for tax planning and drawing up a watertight contract.

No - you cannot get a mortgage on furniture, so you can't offset that against tax.

OK, thanks.
I had not realised that the tax would only apply to the furniture rather than the appt (inc. furniture) as whole. That is why I referenced the UK point.
