Internet subscription termination

Because of move I have to terminate my Internet subscription with Base. I informed them one than one month in advance by registry letter. But, their staff told me today on the phone that before one year I can't break the contract and I have to pay monthly suscription even though I don't live in that address anymore. He even said- you can't change the Belgian law.
Is there any way I can stop paying ?
