A (very) old relative has just died and left me a bequest of around €300000, in cash. Would welcome all suggestions as to how this money could best work for me in these troubled times (I already have a house I live in).

I would diversify. 1/3 in cash or gold, 1/3 in stocks and 1/3 in real state (not in Belgium, though).
In any case, I think the best thing is to wait and see until the Greece problem is fixed.
