IPhone in the U.S.

Question

I have a Proximus chip 4 my iPhone. I want to use my iPhone in the U.S. without paying roaming charges. Can I purchase a chip in the U.S. & pay as I go & get a phone number? Who with & how? Appreciate any advice!

Michael

I've been looking into this very thing. The best option seems to be the T-Mobile USA daily rate, $2/day for 2G speed which is all you'll get with T-Mobile. See http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/pay-by-the-day-cell-phone-plans

The SIM seems to be free online (http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Cell-Phone-Detail.aspx?cell-phone=T-... ) but you'll need a US delivery address for it and you'll need to activate it once in the US. It may be easier to go to a T-Mobile shop for it, but they may charge.

Have a look at http://prepaidwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/USA for other options (and that site other countries as well).

I haven't done this myself yet, so I'm not positive it works; if you do, please come back to let us know how it worked and how much it cost and how easy it was...
